Avoid heavy cleaning by using foil on oven bottoms (steering clear of vents and heating elements), and clean spills as soon as possible. To clean, use either safer degreasers or baking soda mixed with two tablespoons salt and hot water. Let paste sit for 5 minutes and then use a scrub brush.
